Workshop: Design a Vegetable Garden

 During this workshop you will develop your own personalized  design & plan for your vegetable garden.  Whether or not you are improving your current garden or starting from zero. 

Price includes a pre-workshop video call to understand your personal project.  

Lunch: a light soup will be provided.  Each person is welcome to bring an accompagnement for a shared lunch break.  If the weather is nice, we will eat lunch outdoors in a beautiful garden!    This workshop includes  demonstration in the vegetable garden. 

Pre-workshop  tasks

  • Completion of a questionnaire to provide the foundation for your personalised plan
  • Exchange of photographs of your garden space
  • Take soil samples to bring for observation

Agenda:  

  • Analyse your soil and site; and choose the right location for your garden
  • Choose the structure appropriate for you : raised beds, traditional rows, lasagna method and no dig beds
  • What structural elements do I need to consider: paths, storage, irrigation, supports
  • Amend the soil for your specific soil type and crops that you want to grow
  • Determine which vegetables you want to grow along with space required
  • Create a plan for rotating the crops and use companion planting
  • Irrigation options and understand water needs for various vegetables
  • Creation of a timeline and high level plan customised to your project
  • Understand the associated labour & costs to establish your budget

Agenda : the day will finish with the completion of your personalised plan 

  • Hands on planning session to create your personalised plan with next steps & timelines

This is a working session and the class size is limited to 6 in order to respond to your individual questions and complete your personalised plan.
